New Blood Test for Early Detection of Alzheimer’s Shows High Diagnostic Accuracy, Aiding Clinical Trials
Aug 5, 2024, 01:02 PM
Researchers have developed a new blood test to detect Alzheimer’s disease, which can diagnose the disease even at the early stage of mild cognitive impairment. This advancement is expected to improve the path to better diagnosis and faster access to clinical trials and early treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. A study published in the JAMA Network during the AAIC24 conference found that the blood test had high diagnostic accuracy for identifying Alzheimer’s among adults with cognitive symptoms. The test, developed by Marta Barrachina, PhD, and her team at @ADmitTherapeut1, could make clinical trials more efficient and effective, generating hope for early detection and timely access to new treatments.
