Heavy Shelling in Belgorod Injures Nine, Causes Fires with Vampire MLRS
Sep 16, 2024, 06:03 AM
The Russian city of Belgorod has experienced heavy shelling, reportedly by Ukrainian forces, resulting in significant damage and multiple injuries. The shelling, which began on the morning of September 16, has led to fires, with burning cars and smoke filling the city. According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, at least eight civilians were wounded, one of whom is in critical condition. The attacks have also damaged residential buildings and private homes. Local authorities have reported explosions and fires on the Shebekino-Belgorod highway, with four people injured in an earlier incident on September 14. The shelling is believed to be in retaliation for earlier attacks on Kharkiv by Russian forces. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod and more than 10 settlements in the region, injuring nine people. The attacks included the use of the Vampire MLRS.
