Over 550 Humanitarian Aid Trucks Enter Gaza on First Day of Ceasefire, 600 Expected Daily
Jan 19, 2025, 11:38 AM
Humanitarian aid trucks have begun entering the Gaza Strip following the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Over 550 aid trucks entered Gaza on the first day of the ceasefire, with 242 trucks designated for the northern part of the Strip. The shipments include fuel, medical supplies, foodstuffs, vegetables, and fruits. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported having 4,000 truckloads of aid ready to enter Gaza, with half of them carrying food and flour. The ceasefire agreement allows for the daily entry of 600 aid trucks into Gaza. The aid trucks entered through various crossings, including Rafah from Egypt and Kerem Shalom from Israel, with some trucks also carrying fuel. The entry of aid is aimed at addressing the humanitarian needs of the population in Gaza.
