Young Thug Accepts Plea Deal: Sentenced to Time Served, 15 Years Probation
Oct 31, 2024, 10:27 PM
Rapper Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Williams, has accepted a non-negotiated plea deal in the YSL RICO trial in Georgia, presided over by Judge Paige Reese Whitaker. After more than two years in jail during the trial, he pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to violate Georgia's RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity. Young Thug had previously declined an initial plea deal that would have released him with 15 years probation, as it required him to testify. The state had recommended a 45-year sentence with 25 years to serve. Under the terms of the plea deal, he was sentenced to time served and 15 years of probation, leading to his imminent release. His probation conditions include a ban from the Metro Atlanta area for 10 years, except for specific family events, performing four annual anti-gang and anti-violence presentations or concerts in Metro Atlanta, and he is allowed to travel for work. The judge also prohibited him from contact with certain individuals.
