Paul Auster, the acclaimed American author and filmmaker, known for his works such as 'The New York Trilogy,' has passed away at the age of 77 due to complications from lung cancer. Auster, a literary figure celebrated for his experimental and postmodern approach to writing, died at his home in Brooklyn on the evening of April 30, surrounded by family, including his wife Siri Hustvedt. His literary contributions, including over 30 books which have been translated into more than 40 languages, have left a significant mark on English-language literature. Auster's death follows a profound personal tragedy, as his son and granddaughter had died from an overdose two years earlier.
