ESPN Fires Robert Griffin III and Sam Ponder Amid Budget Cuts
Aug 15, 2024, 05:47 PM
ESPN has fired Robert Griffin III, a former NFL quarterback who joined the network in 2021. Griffin, who had two years remaining on his contract, was reportedly let go as part of budget moves. He had been considered a rising star at ESPN and was recently replaced by Jason Kelce on the Monday NFL studio show. Additionally, ESPN also terminated Sam Ponder, a long-time NFL Countdown host, citing similar budgetary reasons. Both Griffin and Ponder will receive the salaries they are due.
