Bo Nix's Three TDs, 192 Yards Give Broncos 28-6 Lead Over Falcons
Nov 17, 2024, 10:42 PM
Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix led his team to a commanding 28-6 lead over the Atlanta Falcons, completing 17 of 19 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns with a passer rating of 143.9 and an adjusted completion percentage of 100% in the first half. The Broncos scored touchdowns on four of their five possessions, with drives of 70, 77, and 70 yards in the first half, averaging 7.1 yards per play. Nix connected with Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin for touchdowns and also benefited from a 14-yard touchdown run by Javonte Williams. Marvin Mims contributed significantly with a 37-yard punt return, setting up key scoring opportunities. The Broncos converted crucial plays, including third-and-9, third-and-1, third-and-8, second-and-16, and a fourth down, showcasing efficiency on offense. Atlanta's defense, which allows the highest quarterback completion percentage in the NFL, struggled to contain Nix. The Falcons managed only two field goals by Younghoe Koo, and penalties thwarted their red zone efforts. The Broncos extended their lead to 28-6 in the third quarter with Nix's third touchdown pass, a 7-yard screen to Troy Franklin. Nix's performance marks him as only the second rookie quarterback since Peyton Manning in 1998 to have 200-plus passing yards and two or more passing touchdowns in four consecutive home games.
