Baltimore's Key Bridge Repair Costs Up to $1.9 Billion; Over $100M Spent on Wreckage Removal
Jun 16, 2024, 05:26 PM
Maryland Governor Wes Moore has announced that the cost to repair the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed earlier this year, is estimated to be between $1.7 and $1.9 billion. The federal government has already spent more than $100 million to remove the wreckage. Governor Moore expressed confidence that Congress will fund the construction of a new bridge, stating that Baltimore deserves a great new bridge. The Port of Baltimore, which was affected by the collapse, reopened for business last week.
