Former Fire Chief Killed Shielding Family in Butler, PA Trump Assassination Attempt

Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old former fire chief of Buffalo Township in Pennsylvania, was identified as the victim killed during an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, PA. Comperatore, of Sarver, PA, heroically shielded his wife and daughter from the attack, which left Trump and two others injured. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire during the rally, resulting in Comperatore's death. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed Comperatore's identity and praised his bravery. The second victim has been identified as 57-year-old David Dutch of New Kensington, PA. The incident has drawn widespread condolences and tributes for Comperatore's heroic actions.
