Senior Conservative Jacob Rees-Mogg has lost his North East Somerset and Hanham seat to Labour's Dan Norris. Rees-Mogg, a prominent figure in British politics over the last 14 years, was defeated with Labour securing a majority of more than 5,000 votes. This loss marks a significant blow for the Conservative Party in the 2024 General Election. Prior to the election, there was a 53% likelihood that Rees-Mogg would lose his seat.
