AMD is qualifying chip production at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC) new Fab 21 facility in Arizona, according to statements made by AMD CEO Lisa Su at a recent company event. The company hinted at its intention to be a customer of this fab more than a year ago. This move positions AMD as the second major customer of TSMC's Arizona plant, following Apple. AMD has no current plans to use other foundries besides TSMC.
