Jannik Sinner Wins ATP Finals in Turin, Defeats Fritz 6-4, 6-4
Nov 17, 2024, 06:43 PM
Jannik Sinner has made history by winning the ATP Finals in Turin, becoming the first Italian man to achieve this feat. Sinner defeated Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 in the final, not dropping a single set throughout the tournament. This victory marks Sinner's eighth title of 2024 and his 18th career title. He also becomes the first player to win the ATP Finals without dropping a set since Ivan Lendl in 1986. Sinner's dominant performance included winning 70 matches this year, the most by any player since Andy Murray in 2016. Additionally, Sinner has won the Australian Open, US Open, and three ATP Masters 1000 titles this year, cementing his status as the world No. 1. Remarkably, he lost only 33 games en route to the title, the fewest ever. This victory on home soil was witnessed by an adoring crowd. Fritz will rise to a career-high ranking of World No. 4.
