Jorge Mateo's 3-Run Homer Off Max Fried Leads Orioles to Fifth Straight Win, 4-0 Over Braves
Jun 12, 2024, 01:05 AM
Jorge Mateo made a triumphant return to the Baltimore Orioles lineup by hitting a three-run home run in his first at-bat off Max Fried after coming off the concussion injured list. This home run, Mateo's fourth of the season, helped the Orioles secure a 4-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Albert Suárez contributed to the win by allowing only four hits in 5 1/3 innings. The Orioles' bullpen also performed well, giving up just one hit over the final 3.2 innings. Austin Hays added to the offense by going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run. This victory marks the Orioles' fifth consecutive win and their sixth shutout of the season. Baltimore has now won 15 of their last 19 games.
