Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) to Adopt Tesla's NACS for 'AFEELA' EVs in Japan Starting 2025
Sep 27, 2024, 05:22 AM
Sony Honda Mobility has announced an agreement with Tesla to adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its 'AFEELA' electric vehicles (EVs). The 'AFEELA' EVs will begin sales in 2025, initially in the United States and later in Japan. This makes Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) the first company in Japan to adopt the NACS. Tesla's Supercharger network, which comprises 90% of 150kW+ chargers in Japan, will support these vehicles. Tesla has emphasized that a great charging experience is key to accelerating EV adoption.
