The New York Rangers have traded their captain, defenseman Jacob Trouba, to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Urho Vaakanainen and a fourth-round draft pick. The deal involves no salary retention by the Rangers, allowing them to clear Trouba's full $8 million annual cap hit from their books and significantly freeing up cap space.
