Kratos Wins $1.45 Billion U.S. DoD Contract for MACH-TB 2.0 Hypersonic Test Bed
Jan 7, 2025, 01:00 PM
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. has been awarded a $1.45 billion contract by the U.S. Department of Defense for the development of the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Test Bed (MACH-TB) 2.0 program. This five-year contract, announced on January 6, 2025, marks the largest award in Kratos's history and aims to enhance the testing of hypersonic weapons, which travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5. The company will lead a team including Leidos, Rocket Lab, and Stratolaunch to increase the frequency of hypersonic flight tests using both subscale and full-scale testing capabilities. The MACH-TB program is part of a broader effort to accelerate the development of hypersonic technologies in response to advancements by other nations.
