Three Utahns tragically drowned while canyoneering in the Sierra Nevada, California, on Friday night. The incident occurred in an area known as Seven Teacups, where the individuals were caught in a whirlpool while rappelling into a pool of water. One person initially became trapped, prompting a man to jump in to assist, only to be caught in the whirlpool as well. Another man from American Fork also jumped in to help but was similarly trapped, leading to the triple drowning. The victims were part of a group of tourists exploring the scenic California location.
