Delhi Minister Accuses LG of Approving Felling of 1,100 Trees in Satbari Ridge
Aug 26, 2024, 04:55 AM
Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj has accused Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena of approving the felling of 1,100 trees in the Satbari Ridge area of Delhi without proper permissions. Bhardwaj claims that the Lieutenant Governor visited the site and directed the tree cutting for road expansion, despite the requirement for permission from the Tree Officer and the Supreme Court. The AAP has demanded Saxena's resignation, alleging that he misled both the public and the court. The issue is currently under hearing in the Supreme Court, with affidavits from DDA officials indicating Saxena's involvement. The trees were reportedly cut on February 13.
