Cargo Ship Dali to Be Refloated Monday After Nine Weeks Following Baltimore Bridge Collapse
May 19, 2024, 03:00 AM
The cargo ship Dali, which crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, is set to be refloated on Monday after nine weeks of salvage efforts. The incident, which occurred in March, led to the collapse of the bridge and has left the 21-member crew stranded on the ship for seven weeks. Officials have used giant floating cranes and explosives in the salvage operation. Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced that the ship will be removed within days. The Unified Command has planned an 18-hour preparation starting Sunday to refloat and move the Dali to a marine terminal in Baltimore.
