VisitApple Discontinues 'Buy Now, Pay Later' Service in the U.S., Effective Immediately
Jun 17, 2024, 08:09 PM
Apple has announced the discontinuation of its 'buy now, pay later' service, Apple Pay Later, in the United States, effective immediately. This service, which was launched last year, allowed users to make purchases on an installment plan. Existing users can still manage their loans via the Wallet app. Apple plans to introduce new features to Apple Pay later this year, including global installment loans through credit and debit cards in collaboration with lenders such as Affirm and other credit providers with iOS 18. This move marks a shift from Apple's efforts to offer more financial services in-house to partnering with external financial service providers.
