Anduril Secures $250 Million Pentagon Contract for 500 Roadrunner-M Drones and Pulsar System
Oct 8, 2024, 09:11 PM
Anduril Industries has secured a $250 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to provide its Roadrunner drone interceptor and Pulsar electronic warfare system. This contract includes the delivery of over 500 Roadrunner-M drones, aimed at countering the increasing threat of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) attacks against U.S. forces. The Roadrunner drone has been tested in real-world conditions and is designed to enhance the Pentagon's capabilities in drone defense. Additionally, SpaceX and Northrop Grumman are rapidly executing a National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) program, with plans to launch 100 satellites by December 2024, following an initial launch in May. SpaceX's Starshield unit received a $1.8 billion contract from the NRO in 2021 to support this initiative.
