Tadej Pogacar Wins First World Road Race Title, Completes Triple Crown Since 1987
Sep 29, 2024, 03:22 PM
Tadej Pogacar has achieved a historic milestone in the world of cycling by winning the Men's Elite Road Race at the World Road Cycling Championships in Zurich. This victory completes the 'Triple Crown' for Pogacar, as he has also won the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia in the same year. Pogacar becomes only the third cyclist in history to accomplish this feat, joining the ranks of Eddy Merckx and Stephen Roche. The Slovenian's dominant performance in Zurich solidifies his status as one of the sport's greats. This is Pogacar's first World Championship title, making him the first man since 1987 to win cycling's triple crown in the same season.
