OpenAI Begins Rollout of GPT-4o Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT Plus Users Today
Jul 30, 2024, 06:35 PM
OpenAI has begun rolling out its advanced Voice Mode to a select group of ChatGPT Plus users. This new feature, which offers more natural, real-time conversations with the ability to interrupt and respond to emotions, is expected to be available to all Plus users by the end of fall 2024. The rollout follows delays due to safety concerns and a legal threat from Scarlett Johansson. The advanced Voice Mode, part of the GPT-4o model, is currently in its alpha phase, with only a limited number of users having access initially. OpenAI's new voice mode, which includes four preset voices, has been programmed not to mimic specific individuals. The feature began rolling out today and provides hyper-realistic audio responses.
