SpaceX Targets 400 Starships and 136 Launches in 2024 While Processing Five Boosters and Building 60 Satellites Weekly
Nov 16, 2024, 09:40 PM
SpaceX is setting ambitious targets for its launch operations, with plans to conduct 136 launches in 2024 and fly 400 Starships within the next four years, according to Gwynne Shotwell, the company's president. This projection is notable considering SpaceX has not yet completed 400 Falcon 9 missions in its 14-year history. Recently, the company has been active in recovering and processing its Falcon 9 rockets, with five boosters currently at its facilities in California and Florida. The droneship Just Read the Instructions has returned to Port Canaveral after delivering booster B1076 from the November 14 Starlink 6-68 mission, marking its 18th trip to space. Additionally, SpaceX is reportedly building 60 satellites per week and is preparing for four upcoming launches from its various launch pads across Texas, Florida, and California.
