Fighting in Russia's Kursk region has entered a second day following an incursion by Ukrainian troops, according to officials in Moscow. The incursion reportedly involves hundreds of Ukrainian troops, with Ukrainian forces advancing further north into the Kursk region. Former political advisor Sergey Markov claims that two Ukrainian battalions are currently in Russia, with five additional brigades staging on the Ukrainian side. The Ukrainian army is said to be present in 11 villages in the Kursk region, moving as far as 15 kilometers into Russian territory. President Vladimir Putin has called an urgent Security meeting in response to the situation.
