Tesla's FSD v13.2 Debuts with Cortex Supercomputer and Autonomous Parking
Nov 30, 2024, 11:42 PM
Tesla has begun rolling out Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 13.2 to customers, marking a significant overhaul of its autonomous driving software. This update is the first to utilize the Cortex supercomputer training cluster at Giga Texas, enabling a 5x increase in training computer scaling. FSD v13.2 upgrades every part of the end-to-end driving network, incorporating 36 Hz full-resolution AI4 video inputs and native AI4 neural network architectures. The new version introduces features such as the ability for vehicles to reverse out of parking spots, autonomous parking, and unpark and park functions, all initiated with a new start button that reduces the need to touch the steering wheel. Tesla reports a 5-6 times improvement in miles between necessary human interventions compared to FSD v12.5.4. The update is also available on the Cybertruck and reflects a major rewrite that began four years ago on the 'photon count' journey. Tesla AI team members describe FSD v13 as one of the biggest rewrites in years, delivering smoother and more reliable driving performance.
