Sep 30, 2024, 05:20 PM
Verizon experienced a significant nationwide outage on Monday, affecting hundreds of thousands of customers. The outage impacted services such as data, phone calls, and text messages. Reports indicated that the outage was widespread, with major disruptions in regions including the Midwest and Southeast. Verizon confirmed the issue and stated that their engineers were working to resolve it. By late afternoon, the company announced that they were making progress in restoring services. By evening, Verizon declared that the network issue had been resolved and services were fully restored. Customers were advised to restart their phones if they continued to experience issues. The outage followed the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which had already caused disruptions in the Southeast. AT&T and T-Mobile users also reported service issues, with more than 100,000 outage reports by 11 a.m.
