Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels delivered a historic performance against the Detroit Lions, breaking Andrew Luck's record for combined rushing and passing yards by a rookie, including playoffs. Daniels surpassed Luck's 2012 mark of 4,952 yards with 4,975 yards and counting in the 2024 season. In the first half of the game, Daniels completed 14 of 21 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, achieving a passer rating of 137.4. He also rushed for 30 yards. Notably, he was highly effective against zone coverage, completing 8 of 9 passes for 121 yards, while against man coverage he went 2 of 7 for 11 yards. Daniels made a remarkable throw to wide receiver Dyami Brown, showcasing his exceptional talent. With this game, Daniels became the first rookie quarterback to throw multiple touchdown passes in two playoff games.
