The 2024 NCAA FCS playoffs have been officially announced, featuring ten automatic qualifiers. Notably, Tennessee State University (TSU) secured an at-large bid, marking their first playoff appearance since 2013. In a significant game, Tennessee State defeated No. 12 Southeast Missouri State 28-21, which also earned Southeast Missouri the Big South-OVC's automatic bid. This victory resulted in a four-way tie for the conference title among Tennessee State, UT Martin, and Tennessee Tech, all with identical records of 9-3 and 6-2 in conference play. Additionally, two teams from the United Athletic Conference, Abilene Christian and Tarleton State, qualified for their first-ever FCS playoffs. The playoffs will see eight teams receiving first-round byes, with TSU set to face No. 14 Montana in their opening matchup.
