Ukraine Launches 125-Drone Attack on Seven Russian Regions; Yeysk Air Base, Voronezh Homes Hit
Sep 29, 2024, 04:22 AM
Ukraine conducted one of its most massive drone attacks overnight, launching 125 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against seven Russian regions including Voronezh, Rostov, Volgograd, Belgorod, Yeysk, Kursk, and the Sea of Azov area. Russian defense officials reported intercepting many of the drones using air defense and electronic warfare systems. In Voronezh, residents reported hearing at least 10 explosions, with debris falling on a residential building, causing fires and damage to multiple homes, apartment blocks, and residential areas in the city and suburbs. In Volgograd Oblast near Stalingrad, a fire broke out at a munitions depot in the village of Kotluban following drone strikes. The Yeysk air base, which hosts tactical bombers and reportedly housed Kinzhal missiles prepared for transfer, was also targeted. Successful strikes were reported in Rostov and Yeysk. The attacks signify an escalation in drone warfare tactics employed by Ukraine against key Russian military installations.
