Diamond Sports Exits Bankruptcy, Partners with Prime Video to Offer FanDuel RSNs as Add-On
Nov 14, 2024, 02:17 PM
Diamond Sports Group has announced a multi-year commercial agreement with Amazon's Prime Video to make its regional sports networks (RSNs), now rebranded as FanDuel Sports Network, available as an add-on subscription for customers within each team's designated geographic area. The RSNs will cost extra, and having Prime Video alone is not sufficient to access them. The deal is non-exclusive, allowing fans to watch their teams through either Prime Video or the FanDuel Sports Network. This announcement comes as Diamond Sports Group emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy after a 20-month restructuring process, having received court approval from Texas Judge Chris Lopez for its reorganization plan. The company will exit bankruptcy with 95% less debt and will continue broadcasting games for 27 NBA, NHL, and MLB teams, specifically 13 NBA, 8 NHL, and 6 MLB teams.
