Referee David Coote Sacked Immediately by PGMOL After Leaked Videos
Dec 9, 2024, 04:17 PM
Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has terminated the employment of Premier League referee David Coote, from Newark, Nottinghamshire, with immediate effect following an investigation into his conduct. The PGMOL stated that Coote's actions were found to be in serious breach of his employment contract, rendering his position untenable. Coote was reportedly involved in leaked videos where he made derogatory remarks about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and referred to Liverpool FC in offensive terms. Another video allegedly showed him snorting a white powder. Despite the termination, the PGMOL emphasized its commitment to supporting Coote's welfare and noted that he has the right to appeal the decision.
