Trump Visits Asheville, Vows to Rebuild After Hurricane Helene, Criticizes White House
Oct 21, 2024, 03:51 PM
Former President Donald Trump visited Asheville, North Carolina on October 21 to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. Landing shortly after noon, Trump met with victims and assessed the hurricane's impact on the community. Speaking to the press at 12:00 PM ET, he criticized the current administration's response, stating, "The power of nature, nothing you can do about it, but you gotta get a little bit better crew and to do a better job than has been done by the White House. It's been not good." He pledged his support to the affected communities, saying, "When I'm president, I will stand with you until the communities are fully rebuilt, every single inch of every property will be fully rebuilt." Trump suggested that change is forthcoming, remarking, "On January 20th, I think you're going to have a new crew coming in to do it properly." His visit was broadcast live on multiple networks, including C-SPAN2.
