VisitOpenAI's Newsroom Account on X Hacked by Crypto Scammers, Promoting Fake $OPENAI Token
Sep 23, 2024, 10:40 PM
OpenAI's official Newsroom account on X has been hacked by crypto scammers, marking the fourth such incident in the past 15 months. The compromised account has been used to promote a fake cryptocurrency token, $OPENAI. This incident follows the hacking of OpenAI researcher Jason Wei's account just two days earlier. Users are advised not to interact with any links posted by the hacked account. The repeated security breaches highlight a pressing need for enhanced security measures, including the implementation of two-factor authentication (2FA) for all OpenAI accounts. The hack occurred on September 23, 2024.
