VisitApple to Introduce Standalone Passwords App Next Week on June 10
Jun 6, 2024, 08:51 PM
Apple is set to introduce a standalone 'Passwords' app as part of its upcoming iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15 updates. The new app, which will be unveiled next week on June 10, aims to streamline password management by making it easier for customers to log in to websites and software. Powered by iCloud Keychain, the app will support different categories of login data, including user accounts, Wi-Fi details, and Passkeys. Additionally, it will feature the ability to generate two-factor authentication (2FA) codes and allow users to import passwords from rival services such as 1Password and LastPass. This move positions Apple to compete directly with established password managers in the market.
