Labour Set for Historic Landslide Victory with 212-Seat Majority and 431 Seats, YouGov Poll Predicts
Jul 3, 2024, 04:05 PM
The final YouGov MRP poll predicts a historic landslide victory for the Labour Party in the upcoming UK General Election. Labour, led by Keir Starmer, is projected to win 431 seats, gaining 229 seats from the 2019 General Election, and securing a majority of 212 seats. This would be the largest majority for any party since 1832, surpassing Tony Blair’s 419 seats won in 1997. The Conservative Party is expected to suffer its worst result ever, dropping to 102 seats, a loss of 263 seats. The Liberal Democrats are projected to win a record 72 seats, an increase of 61 seats. The Scottish National Party (SNP) is expected to secure 18 seats, losing 30 seats from the previous election. Reform UK, Plaid Cymru, and the Green Party are expected to win 3, 3, and 2 seats respectively, with the Greens winning in Bristol Central. The poll was conducted by interviewing 47,751 voters from June 19 to July 2.
