Pro-Palestinian protesters caused significant disruptions at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is staying during his visit to the United States. The protesters released maggots, mealworms, and crickets throughout the hotel, including on banquet tables and in conference rooms. They also set off multiple fire alarms throughout the night, disturbing Netanyahu and his delegation. The protests, which involved breaching police barriers and waving Palestinian flags, were aimed at calling for Netanyahu's arrest and highlighting opposition to his policies. Despite heavy security, the protesters managed to breach the hotel multiple times, targeting not only Netanyahu but also Mossad agents and the Secret Service. Netanyahu is scheduled to address a joint meeting of Congress later today.
