Sep 9, 2024, 03:06 PM
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced contracts for the acquisition of 3.4 million barrels of sour crude oil to replenish the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). The contracts involve the delivery of over 1.1 million barrels per month from January 2025 to March 2025 at the Bryan Mound site. This addition is part of a broader effort by the Biden administration, which has already purchased approximately 50 million barrels of crude oil for the SPR.
