VisitApple and Discord Act Against AI 'Undress' Websites Misusing Sign-On Systems
Aug 29, 2024, 11:23 AM
Major technology companies, including Google, Apple, and Discord, are facing scrutiny as their single sign-on systems are being used by harmful AI 'undress' websites. These websites, which provide deepfake generating services, have integrated sign-in tools from these companies. In response, Apple and Discord have begun terminating accounts of some developers involved. Analysis shows that 16 of these undress websites use sign-in infrastructure from multiple tech giants. Additionally, Apple has faced backlash from major websites such as Facebook, Instagram, and The New York Times, which have blocked Apple's AI crawler, Applebot-Extended, from scraping their data. This move comes after Apple allowed websites more control over their data usage for AI training.
