Google DeepMind and Apptronik Partner to Advance Humanoid Robotics with Apollo Robot

Google DeepMind has entered into a strategic partnership with Apptronik, an AI-powered humanoid robotics company, to advance the development of humanoid robots. The collaboration aims to combine Apptronik's cutting-edge robotics platform with Google DeepMind's AI expertise to create intelligent, versatile, and safe robots capable of operating in dynamic environments. Apptronik, founded in 2016 out of the University of Texas at Austin, has developed the Apollo humanoid robot, designed by CEO Jeff Cardenas to perform physically demanding tasks in industrial settings. Apollo stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 160 pounds. Apptronik's experience includes working on NASA's Valkyrie robot. Google DeepMind's robotics team, known for its advancements in AI and robotics, will leverage its expertise in machine learning, engineering, and physics simulation to enhance the capabilities of these robots. The partnership is expected to drive new frontiers in embodied AI, with potential applications in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and beyond.
