The Moidams, the mound-burial system of the Ahom Dynasty in Assam, India, have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This marks the first time a site from the Northeast region of India has received this recognition under the Cultural Property category. The announcement was made during the 46th World Heritage Committee session held in New Delhi. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated the inclusion, highlighting it as a significant achievement for the state. The Moidams are now India's 43rd World Heritage Site.
