Shahen Ahmed, a 34-year-old drug dealer from Tower Hamlets, east London, has been sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison for his involvement in the supply of drugs and money laundering. Ahmed, who compared himself to notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and boasted about "running the streets" of Tower Hamlets and being "east London's finest," was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 13. Authorities discovered £600,000 in cash hidden by Ahmed, highlighting the extent of his criminal operations in the capital.
