The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has announced a historic plan to extend weekday trading hours on its NYSE Arca Equities Exchange to 22 hours a day. Pending regulatory approval, the extended hours would run from 1:30 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern Time on weekdays, excluding federal holidays, significantly expanding from the current trading hours of 4 AM to 8 PM ET.
