NYSE to Extend Arca Trading Hours to 22 Hours Daily, from 1:30 AM to 11:30 PM ET
Oct 25, 2024, 02:47 PM
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has announced a historic plan to extend weekday trading hours on its NYSE Arca Equities Exchange to 22 hours a day. Pending regulatory approval, the extended hours would run from 1:30 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern Time on weekdays, excluding federal holidays, significantly expanding from the current trading hours of 4 AM to 8 PM ET. This change aims to capitalize on global demand for U.S. stocks by providing nearly round-the-clock access to trading in all U.S.-listed stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and closed-end funds.
