Huawei has officially opened its new 2,600-acre R&D center in Shanghai's Qingpu district, near Liangqiu Lake. The facility, which can accommodate over 40,000 people, including 35,000 scientists and engineers, is designed to gather all of Huawei's R&D efforts, including HiSilicon, wireless technologies such as 5G-A and 6G, smartphones, autonomous vehicles, and digital energy research. The campus, inspired by Lake Michigan Chicago buildings as suggested by founder Ren Zhengfei, is divided and connected by trains, bridges, and internal roads, providing a beautiful and efficient working environment. The center aims to attract top talent in China by offering competitive pay, interesting projects, and a great environment.
