President-elect Donald Trump announced that he is arranging a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Putin "wants to meet" and "we're setting it up." Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago residence on January 9 before a meeting with Republican governors, Trump emphasized, "We have to get that war over with," referring to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which he called "a bloody mess."
