Jordan and Saudi Arabia Bar Use of Their Airspace for Attacks on Israel, Defend Sovereignty
Aug 5, 2024, 05:31 PM
Jordan has announced that it will not allow its airspace to be used by any party, including the United States, Israel, and Iran. This decision was communicated to the relevant countries by Jordanian officials, including the Foreign Minister during his visit to Tehran, as reported by Sky News Arabia. Similarly, Saudi Arabia has informed Iranian officials that it will not permit Iran to use Saudi airspace to launch attacks on Israel. Any missiles, drones, or aircraft entering Saudi airspace will be considered a violation of Saudi sovereignty. Both Jordan and Saudi Arabia emphasize that their actions are to defend their own sovereignty and not to support any other nation. This stance comes after Iran's first strikes at Israel in April, following the assassination of Haniyeh.
