A former Russian investigator has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for accepting bribes in Bitcoin. The bribes, totaling $73 million, were given by an organized crime group that the investigator, Marat Tambiyev, was investigating. This case marks the largest bribe in modern Russian history. Tambiyev accepted 1,032 bitcoins, worth approximately $65 million, from a group of hackers. In return, he agreed not to confiscate the bitcoins.
