Putin Threatens Kyiv After Striking Ukraine with 90 Missiles, Unveils New 'Oreshnik' Missile
Nov 28, 2024, 11:07 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia conducted overnight strikes on Ukrainian targets using 90 missiles and 100 drones, hitting 17 military facilities, in response to recent attacks on Russian territory with American-supplied ATACMS long-range missiles. Putin claimed that Russia's production of advanced missile systems exceeds that of NATO by tenfold and is set to increase by 25-30% next year. He revealed that serial production has begun for a new missile system called "Oreshnik," with several missiles ready for use, which he asserts has no equivalent globally and could potentially be used against decision-making centers in Kyiv. Putin stated that if used en masse, the Oreshnik's impact would be comparable to a nuclear explosion, although it is not a weapon of mass destruction. He added that the General Staff and Ministry of Defense are currently selecting targets for potential Oreshnik strikes, and that there is currently no way to stop the Oreshnik missile.
