VisitIsrael Destroys Iran's Air Defenses, Including Four S-300 Batteries Protecting Energy and Nuclear Sites
Oct 27, 2024, 02:12 AM
Israel launched attacks on Iran early Saturday, destroying air-defense systems protecting several critical oil and petrochemical refineries, a large gas field, and a major port in southern Iran, according to Iranian and Israeli defense officials. The strikes destroyed all four of Iran's S-300 air defense batteries in strategic locations that protected Tehran, nuclear, and energy facilities, as well as S-200 systems protecting oil and gas sites. Additionally, Israel targeted planetary mixers used to produce solid fuel for long-range ballistic missiles, including all 16 sites and the only fuel mixer manufacturing plant. The attacks also destroyed Iran's largest radar installation with a range of 1,000 kilometers and command-and-control centers.
