Ukraine Awaits Western Approval to Strike 261 Russian Targets with Storm Shadow Missiles
Oct 3, 2024, 09:53 AM
Der Spiegel reports that Ukraine has prepared a list of 261 military facilities within Russia that it intends to strike if Western allies authorize the use of long-range missiles on Russian territory. The targets include large arms depots and Russian military bases, aiming to significantly disrupt Russian military logistics. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are awaiting approval from the United States and NATO to deploy long-range weapon systems, such as the Storm Shadow missiles, also known as SCALP, which are launched from fighter jets, against these targets. However, Ukraine is not likely to receive authorization to use its long-range weapon systems against targets within Russia anytime soon.
